Priest movie story

Prophetic sci-fi thriller PRIEST is set in an alternate world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The church created an elite spiritual warrior organization, named “Priests”, who are capable of assassinating vampires. The majority of vampires were killed and the remainder was placed in reservations. Church disbanded Priest’s services fearing their own weapon. Story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest from the last vampire war who lives among human inhabitants. One day Hicks (    sheriff of nearby town) approach the Priest asking for help to rescue his girl friend (Priest’s nice) who is taken by vampires. Priest broke the law of church and went to rescue his nice. Monsignor Orelas, the church leader sends a group of four Priests led by Priestess to capture him and bring him back, dead or alive. Later Priestess joins with the Priest to rescue his nice. They found that vampires have taken shelter in Mira Sola and using train for travel. They also discovered that inhabitants of Mira Sola tunneled to the city of Jeriho, where the other three Priests had been dispatched by Priestess. In Jeriho the three Priests were confronted by Black at, who was an earlier Priest thought to have been killed. Black Hats asks them to join the vampire family. They refused the proposal and got killed. Priest, Hicks and Priestess find the corpses of three Priests, they discover Black Hat’s trail and follow him, eventually catching up to his train along with other vampires. Story ends with the final thrilling sequences in the train. It’s awesome to watch the climax on big screen rather than reading climax and loosing the suspense.

I loved Priest. It was a visually stunning piece of art, very beautiful even in the post-apocalyptic world in which it was set. Each scene was thoughtfully composed and really pulled you into the film... even without that annoying 3D. (I saw it in 2D and completely loved every second.) I've never read the comics so I didn't have any preconceived notions about what I'd be getting into. The film's composition, pace, story, and overall look are what drew me in, the characters kept me there. Sure there were a few "surprises" that weren't really surprises, but that's only because I don't think they were intended to be surprises to the audience, only to other characters.

Karl Urban is awesome (all the time, not just in Priest ;)) and Paul Bettany is a quiet, understated hero in the title role. Even the music was gorgeous.

Highly recommended. =D

I really liked this movie and i must say the Paul Bettany performed more than great in the movie. The voting here is completely false, Priest deserves at least a rating of 7. The only thing i hated in this movie was the 3D, don't waste your money watching it in 3D, only few good effects. I'm guessing that a sequel "Priest 2" will be released in the upcoming years because Priest (Paul Bettany) says that it's just the beginning, it's not the end of the war between Humans and Vampires. Don't worry people, go ahead and watch it, but it's fine not to watch it in 3D, because you'll only see few good effects. I Hope the rating increases in the upcoming days when it gets released in USA.
